How to edit content for employers
Hi All! We've had a few requests as of late on how to edit your Employer Sites and Content Sites. First you will have to ensure with your local CareerHub Administrator that you have the rights and persmissions to do this.
Once that's sorted, first you'll have to log into your CareerHub Administration Site.
Once logged in as a Administrator, head to your Employer Site or Content Site.
If you have the permissions to edit web content, the site will look a little different to you now. You should see blue boxes encasing the site content.

So to edit the item you would click on Edit from the controls. This will bring up a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor if you are editing Generic Content. A WYSIWYG editor allows you to quickly add, edit and delete content similar to how you would in a word processing program.
You have the ability to select from a different range of font sizes and colour for your text, as will as the ability to bold and italic your words. Also, you can easily set up bullet points and numbered lists like you would in a word document.

One useful tool, is the Paste from Word tool which you can spot on the top right of the WYSIWYG controls. Clicking on this will open up a dialog box where you can paste in your already made content from a word document. However pasting your content into this dialog will reformat your word content to better display it in your CareerHub Employer or Content Site.

If you would like to add to add some brand new content to your site, if you head to the bottom of the content on your page you will a see a list of item options, and an add button. Here you would simply select form the list what kind of item you would like to add to your page, and then click Add to confirm your choice.

The most common item you will add to your pages is Generic Content. Just to provide you with further information though, here is the list of some of the possible content types avaliable for you to place on your Employer or Content Sites.
- Generic Content -: Allows you to use a WYSIWYG editor to add text, links and images to your pages.
- Redirect -: Allows you to place in a link for the page to redirect to when visitors head to the page. For e.g. you may list a page titled - Semester Dates. Rather then copying all the content across using Generic Content Items, you might prefer to simply redirect Employers to the Semester Dates page on your Institutions website.
- Site Map -: Dynamically generates a site map for your Employer or Content Site. This is a useful option for larger sites, with a few nested pages.
- Simple List or Browse List -: These are controls which allow you actually display CareerHub content in the form of simple lists or browse lists. These are fairly complex controls we are looking to update, if you plan to use these you may wish to contact support.
A few tips with adding items to your site,
- When adding generic content to your site, it is best to break up content into several items
- Don't go to crazy with font sizes, plain and easy to read is best
- Remember you can move items up and down so don't go deleting when you don't have to
- To edit redirects you have to be logged in as an administrator, if not you will be redirected like everyone else
