How to automatically 'tweet' CareerHub events to your Twitter followers

This video shows you how to use the CareerHub RSS feeds and TwitterFeed to automatically "tweet" your followers every time you add a new event to CareerHub.

While some research shows that University students don't use twitter as much as Facebook, it is still another way to promote your service. Using the process shown in this video you can 'set and forget'. Once you have completed the setup any students following your Twitter account will automatically be tweeted within an hour of you adding your new event to CareerHub.

You will need a couple of things to make this work though:

  1. CareerHub RSS component - this is a CareerHub add-on
  2. Twitter account
  3. TwitterFeed account (www.twitterfeed.com)

You can also use exactly the same process for Facebook if you want to get events of job listings onto your facebook account.

    Hi Nicole,

One option would be to link your LinkedIn account to show your Twitter tweets. You can do this here: https://www.linkedin.com/secure/settings?twitterSettings=&trk=msitehomepage

When you're setting it up in LinkedIn, you can choose to show all your tweets or only the ones with the #in tag. If you go for the second option, you can choose to suffix each tweet with #in in TwitterFeed - it's under the Advanced Settings.

Let us know how you go!

    Luke

    Hi Nicole,
Linked in have their own integrated RSS reader. Details on how this can be done are here:

http://hootsuite.com seems a bit better than TwitterFeed, more reliable and you can have multiple "managers" on a single account. You can also schedule manual tweets and read multiple twitter accounts in a single interface.
